Kenya's political mood, measured — not guessed.
PublicMoodTracker is a real-time political intelligence platform that turns what Kenyans are actually saying — in English, Swahili and Sheng — into sentiment scores you can act on.
Our mission
Political coverage in Kenya moves fast, but public opinion is usually reported anecdotally — a handful of quotes, a trending hashtag, a pundit's hunch. We built PublicMoodTracker to replace that guesswork with data: every politician, every one of the 47 counties, and the campaign issues that matter most, scored continuously from real posts and articles, not polls or surveys.
Ahead of the 2027 general election, we think that data belongs in the open — for reporters fact-checking a claim, for researchers studying regional opinion shifts, and for citizens who want a clearer picture than any single news outlet can offer.
How it works, briefly
Every 15 minutes, our pipeline pulls fresh posts from 9 sources, tags every political entity mentioned, and scores each mention with a multilingual AI sentiment model trained to understand English, Swahili and Sheng. Scores roll up into live rankings, county heatmaps and issue-level trends. For the full technical breakdown — the model, the scoring formula, and our data-freshness policy — see our methodology page.
